What about the hot tub?
I think it's great to have high expectations... however at the first meeting it was revealed that a new run in Queens I believe, was quoted 100 grand just for re-surfacing a run less than halk the size of ours.
IMHO we should worry about the existing run and make it safe for our dogs to be there and have it happen before they are too old to use it.
Cheers,
David
We went with the "ideal" layout here because the Park's Department will inevitably nix some of the things on the list. So we figured, why not ask for everything.
ReplyDeleteAlso, this was discussed at the meeting, but maybe we didn't add this to the blog - we've been told that our councilmen in Brooklyn will most likely provide a large chunk if not all of the money we need. This is great and not what has been the experience of dog runs in other boroughs (as we explained in the first meeting), but apparently Brooklyn is better for this sort of thing. So, we will submit a plan and get an estimate from the Park's Department and then see if we can get the money to fund it.
Maybe there is something to do in the mean time to make the run better in a simple way - someone at the meeting suggested filling the holes somehow? We would have to run that by the Park's Department.
Ok, sounds great if we can go for the whole enchilada why not!
